What is a script?
A script is the written text of a video, film, or podcast. It includes dialogue, action descriptions, scene setups, and sometimes technical cues. For video production, it serves as a blueprint guiding the creative and technical team on what to shoot, say, or edit.

A script organizes the dialogue and visuals so that the video is structured and efficient to produce.
What is the difference between a screenplay and a script?
A screenplay is specifically for films or TV, detailing scenes, actions, and camera directions. A script is a general term for any written dialogue or instructions for any type of content or format.
How do I turn a script into a video?
- Break the script into scenes.
- Create a storyboard.
- Organize actors, locations, and gear.
- Shoot the video.
- Edit the footage according to the script.
How to add a script or host notes in Riverside
- Log in to your Riverside account.
- Start a new recording and join the session as the Host or Producer.
- At the bottom of the screen, click the Script icon.
- In the script box, type your notes or paste in text from another source, then click on Teleprompter.
- The teleprompter text will appear superimposed over the participants' video tiles.
- Click on the Start icon to begin auto-scrolling the text or the Spacebar to turn the auto-scroll on and off.
You can add notes at any time, before or during the session, and they will be automatically saved. These notes are visible only to the host. You can also resize the script box by dragging the bottom-right corner.
These notes can also be inputted into Riverside’s Teleprompter to use during a recording session
