What is fast motion?
Fast motion is a video editing technique where a video is sped up, making actions appear quicker than they actually occurred. This effect is achieved by recording at a normal frame rate and then playing it back faster or by capturing fewer frames per second (FPS) than the playback speed.
Fast motion is commonly used to:
- Show the passage of time
- Create a sense of urgency or energy
- Compress lengthy activities into a shorter, more engaging sequence.
Can I speed up videos in Riverside's editor?
Yes, by removing pauses with the AI Producer. Set pace refers to cutting all the pauses, gaps, and silences identified in your recording.
When editing a video or generating a Magic Clip, pauses can be removed automatically to make your content feel faster-paced and more engaging. However, you can easily adjust it or entirely remove them from the clip in the Editor.

- Generate an AI Magic Clip.
- Click on a clip to open it in the Editor.
- On the toolbar, click AI Producer.
- In the Remove Pauses tab, drag the slider to adjust the amount of pauses in the clip.
- Click Apply to save your changes.
- You can always click on Revert to original to revert back your changes and restore all pauses.
